Roxanne Bryan is an Arizona oil painter known for her vibrant, whimsical wildlife portraits—owls with attitude, smirking donkeys, curious emus, and creatures full of character. Her work blends joy, wit, and a touch of mischief, inviting viewers to pause, grin, and reconnect with the wonder of the natural world.

Roxanne didn’t begin painting until she was 59, following a long career in education and libraries. What began as a creative leap quickly grew into a full-time artistic passion. She completed the Mastery Program at the Milan Art Institute, where she combined classical oil techniques with expressive, contemporary methods to develop her signature style.

Her process begins with hundreds of reference photos capturing gestures, glances, and colors that spark delight. She is especially drawn to owls and their symbolism—truth, transformation, focus, and quiet strength. Roxanne brings these qualities into her work, balancing their intensity with her trademark sense of humor and heart.
